Home of the World Famous School Bus Demolition Derby!
Established in 1888, the Western Illinois Fair is one of the oldest county fairs in the state of Illinois, located in the heart of Pike County, Illinois, in Griggsville.
Normally held each third week in June, the Western Illinois Fair hosts grandstand events such as queen pageant and princess contests, demolition derbies, truck and tractor pulls, and the annual School Bus Demolition Derby, one of the most unique county fair events in the region. Arts and crafts exhibits are open to residents from Adams, Brown, Calhoun, Morgan, Pike and Scott counties.
The Western Illinois Fair is also the host site for the Pike County 4-H agricultural shows, along with various events through the year such as the Griggsville site for the annual Pike County Color Drive in October. Local families have also utilized the grounds for auctions and wedding receptions in our entertainment pavilion.
