Paint the Pavement A Chalk Fest! is part of the 21st annual St. Charles Fine Art Show, bringing explosions of color featuring sidewalk chalk art by professionals and amateurs. It's performance art where artists spend two days on hands and knees meticulously creating detailed chalk and pastel paintings on asphalt and concrete only to have it washed away after they're done.

Paint the Pavement is held adjacent to the First Street Plaza on the western banks of the Fox River in downtown St. Charles, Illinois. Artists are invited to come and display their creativity and imagination and demonstrate the many varieties of chalk art. We invite students, adults, families and businesses to participate and get out of the box and onto a square.
